Delivery Options
SELECT-CUT™ offers customers the option of combining different varieties and mixes of SELECT-CUT™ hay, straw and wood shavings on the same truck load shipment. Although we only direct ship full semi loads of product to one stop locations we can combine most of our products to make it easy and efficient to order from us. For a small horse farm that uses a load of hay and shavings every two months now you can just order a half load of each once per month and not have all the space and money tied up in supplies. Plus you can just worry about receiving and unloading one truck with both products on it instead of two. This is just one way we are making dealing with us easier for you. our goal is complete customer satisfaction.
All select cut products are delivered on van trailers when ordering a direct ship load. We deliver on enclosed trailers to ensure the products are not exposed to the weather.
To receive a direct ship load you must have enough room on your farm to back or pull full size tractor trailer in. You will then be responsible for unloading the trailer in 3 hours or less. If you go over 3 hours we may depending on the situation have to charge detention to compensate the trucker.
Unloading hay is not as hard as it seems, take the following advise and be prepared ahead of time. The bales are compressed to 70lb with straps on them so don’t try to handle them with bare hands. We suggest you use gloves and have hooks to pick up the bales. Hand trucks also make it very easy to carry 3 bales at a time. If you are putting the hay in a loft have a hay elevator ready. Shavings can be unloaded with a tractor or forklift from the back of the trailer. However you will need to get the pallets to the back of the trailer, if you do not have a pallet jack use a long chain or strap and pull the pallet back using your loader. If you do not have forks or a loader you can simply hand unload the shavings like you do the hay.
