SELECT-CUT™ stands behind every bale of hay that we sell one hundred percent. If you for any reason receive hay that is substandard we will stand behind our brand. We are here to have repeat customers year after year and our reputation means everything to us. When you buy SELECT-CUT™ it comes with our passionate dedication to quality and your satisfaction.
Quality control, grading and our promise
It is important that you know just how we grade our hay and what we would consider substandard product and what is a variation in the color or smell of hay within a grade.
Here are three pictures of number one quality timothy hay all of these pictures are from the same grade of hay and same quality but they look slightly different.
Here are the reasons:
Picture one is very pretty #1 quality young cut timothy, it is green, sweet smelling and has a slight bit of brown leaf in it
Picture two is also #1 quality timothy hay young cut green, sweet smelling, has some brown leaf in it; notice there are some orchard heads there too, this is common as you cannot keep all other varieties of hay out of a field. This is considered number one timothy hay
Picture three is #1 timothy hay, it is green, sweet smelling has brown leaf, little orchard and some slight bleach. This hay is still considered number one. If you stand back from these bales you may not be able to see the difference. We are bringing this to your attention so you understand that #1 quality hay is sometimes slightly different textured of colored although it still falls in to the same category.
What we do not tolerate are the following quality issues within the number one grade
Moldy hay
Dusty hay
Severely discolored hay
More than 20% the wrong type of hay
Dirt in the bottom of a bale
Floor mold where a bale had been on the bottom of a stack in our storage area
If you get any bales like this we will issue you a credit on your next shipment, or if that whole load is no good we will take it back and replace if for you.
It is important you understand that hay is a commodity product that is subject to many variables some of which depending on the year we have to live with.
