Who We Are
SELECT-CUT™ hay is an idea that was first thought of by Nick Fitzpatrick in 1999. Entering in to the hay business that year he soon realized that many problems and challenges were to be faced in finding a consistent supply of hay for his customers. The hay farming industry was made up of many small farms with different levels of quality control and different size bales. It was very hard to get the same grade of hay or same bale size from two different farms. And because hay farms typically only bales 5000 to 10000 bales each in a year sooner or later you had to switch the customer on to another hay and they may not be happy with the new quality.
The original thought was to create a re-bailing process that would control the quality of hay and make the same size and weight bale load after load. The problem was that the equipment available at the time had other issues such as breaking up the hay during the process.
Not until 2005 did a machine become available that could take a large bale of hay and turn it in to a smaller easy to handle consistent bale without hurting the structure of the hay in the process. The SELECT-CUT™ process was researched and tested for 2 years during what time we were able to study the process and make sure it worked for our customers. And it did
